Artist Statement
This piece was inspired by the animals and the environment in and surrounding Emeryville, including the Chinook salmon, Steelhead trout, and the California Clapper Rail. I wanted to paint something eye-catching, bold, and uplifting to relay the message “Protect What You Love.”
