Artist Statement
My mural focuses on the positive work currently happening in Caribbean waters, with growing and planting coral, rejuvenating the oceans.
The woman represented in this mural is wrapped in the Grenadian national colors, she dives through a barren, bleached coral seascape while planting coral, bringing life and vitality to the seas, and projecting a positive future for the people and oceans of this Island nation.
Through local initiatives like this and government-created MPAs (Marine Protected Areas) on the island, positive things are taking place to help save our seas and create sustainable ecotourism opportunities for the locals to get ahead and bring positive change.
