Story Behind This Mural
Artist Statement
My wall is mainly focused on shark conservation which are essential to overall health of the ocean ecosystem. Highlighting these apex predators through my style of graffiti and typography, I wanted to spotlight organizations like PangeaSeed Foundation and the Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans program that help preserving the oceans and their species via art and activism (ARTivism).
In the past 50 years, humans have turned the tables on the oceans. It is feared that sharks could possibly become extinct in the next decade or two due to destructive human impact and the global trade in shark fins. Many shark species populations have declined by as much as 90%. We must act now if we wish to save sharks and our oceans.

Shark conservationTake Action
Help conserve shark populations by:
- Refraining from consuming shark fins and meat
- Purchasing cosmetic/health products that don't contain squalene (shark liver oil)
- Avoiding pet food that list 'white fish' as an ingredient as it likely is shark
- Supporting responsible shark tourism operations and experience the animals in their natural habitat
